Hike-a-Thon Online Auction Has Started
Hi Friend,
The 3rd Annual Hike-a-Thon is shaping up to be our best one yet. We
are currently trying to figure out how we can fit all of the goodies

and we are overjoyed by the positive response we have received from
local and national businesses.

We have received such generous support that we have decided to start
our annual auction which accompanies our Hike-a-Thon early this

Hi Friend,
The Friends of Van Cortlandt Park will be turning 20 this year and we
need your help to celebrate. From a humble beginning in 1992, FVCP
has grown to play an increasing role in the maintenance of natural
areas and community programming for Van Cortlandt Park. Each year
FVCP generates thousands of hours of volunteer support for park
maintenance, trains thousands of young people in environmental
stewardship, and offers community programs to promote health and
environmental conservation. We will be hosting several events to
celebrate our 20th year and hope you will join us.

Please sign this online petition -
http://ctsp0.vresp.com/c/?FriendsofVanCortland/c8e2c6f8b6/d80ef033a0/b9b6c9ed2b asking the NYC Department of Environmental Protection to fund the
Pedestrian Bridge over the Major Deegan to connect the Old Croton
Aqueduct Trail which they promised to fund in the original MOU for
the Croton Filtration Plant being built in Van Cortlandt Park. A
feasibility study has shown it is feasible so we need to make sure
they keep their promise.
